Comic-Con Museum s newest exhibit opens Thursday May Image courtesy of Comic-Con Museum Step into the ring at the Comic-Con Museum s newest exhibit Sangre Sudor y Mito The Art and Tradition of Mexican Lucha Libre opening Thursday May in Balboa Park Created in collaboration with the Museo de La Lucha Libre Mexicana in Tijuana and the Consulate General of Mexico in San Diego the bilingual showcase explores the history artistry and cultural significance of Mexican wrestling The exhibit which translates to blood sweat and myth features authentic masks costumes collectibles and tributes to legendary luchadores including women warriors known as Amazonas To kick off the celebration a free family-friendly Lucha Fest will take place Saturday May from to p m at The Soap Factory in Logan Heights The event includes live wrestling matches local food music kids engagements and a mural unveiling to honor San Diego luchador Rey Misterio The exhibit runs at the Comic-Con Museum Thursday through Tuesday a m to p m Tickets and more information are available at comic-con org museum
